The Medical Receptionist is responsible for the Center Administrator and provides appointment scheduling, patient registration, cashiering, answers incoming calls and performs other related clerical functions. This primary role provides front office support functions. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM EST Location: 1082 E Brandon Blvd., Brandon, FL 33551 Primary Responsibilities:Provide exceptional service to all customersGreets patients as they arrive and manages wait timeComplete check-in and check-out tasks to include insurance verification and copy required documentsCollects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receiptsManages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policiesProcesses walk-in patients and visitorsUses, protects, and discloses patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standardsAnswers phones and schedules appointments as necessary, verifying correct visit type and primary care providerAnswer telephone calls, re-direct calls as appropriate, assist callers with questions or concerns, and take messages as neededManages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule)Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc.Responsible for waiting room management cleanliness, communicating pertinent information to patients and ensure all patients have been assistedWork with back-office staff to ensure smooth patient flowResolve service issues and complaints, and defer to appropriate management or clinical personnel when necessaryAssist co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areasEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the publicPerforms all other related duties as assignedYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear directions on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED (or higher)1+ years of customer service-related experience 1+ years of experience with MS OfficePreferred Qualification:1+ years of experience in a medical office or medical environmentPrevious experience with medical insurancePrior experience with EMR computer applicationsWorking knowledge of medical terminology/ medical codingKnowledge of HIPAA regulationsBilingual (English/Spanish) Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
