JOB DESCRIPTION

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking a Social Work Clinician to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare team in Emeryville, CA supporting patients and families through complex medical journeys.

This is an entry-level professional role ideal for MSW graduates or experienced social workers working toward LCSW licensure in California. You’ll build clinical expertise through hands-on patient care, mentorship, and progressive autonomy. This is medical social work (not a mental health/therapy role)

  • Oncology experience preferred, but not required
  • Familiarity with Northern California healthcare settings is a plus
  • This is medical social work (not a mental health/therapy role)
  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite (Emeryville clinic), 2 days remote
  • May require training at additional locations during onboarding
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts
  • Pay- Between $44 & $49- DOE


What You’ll Do

  • Partner with interdisciplinary care teams to assess, plan, and coordinate patient care, including referrals and treatment planning
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for patients and families
  • Develop and implement care plans, including discharge planning and continuity of care
  • Provide supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and education to help patients and families navigate illness and treatment
  • Manage a caseload and maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient interactions and care plans
  • Support quality-of-care initiatives and collaborate on improving patient outcomes
  • Educate healthcare staff on social, cultural, and economic factors impacting patient care

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program or within 45 days of completion
  • Candidates nearing completion must provide a letter of good standing and verify degree completion within 45 days of hire

Key Skills

  • Strong assessment, interviewing, and counseling abilities
  • Knowledge of medical social work practices in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to manage caseloads, maintain confidentiality, and respond effectively in high-pressure situations
  • Skilled in documentation, care coordination, and patient advocacy
  • Understanding of hospital resources and social service systems
