JOB DESCRIPTION
Medium Duty Mechanic
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of bucket and digger trucks to ensure optimal performance and longevity, across multiple job locations.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment, following manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices
- Collaborate with the equipment management team to maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules
- Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues that may arise during construction projects
- Keep abreast of industry developments and technological advancements related to bucket and digger truck mechanics
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Company provides welder, torches, air compressor, and generators.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on bucket and digger trucks.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and convey information to managers.
- Certification in diesel mechanics or a related field is preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver s license; Class A CDL is a plus
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed
- Must be willing to travel out of state as needed
Education and Experience:
- Must have previous mig welding experience
- Must have previous experience operating a cutting torch
- 7-10+ years of related experience is required
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment parts and tools (up to 40 lbs)
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and repair heavy equipment.
- Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures.
