Position OverviewUnder the supervision of the Director of Development for Membership the Membership Coordinator ensures the smooth flow of all administrative needs of the Membership Unit of the Development Department. They act as back up for the Development Department Coordinator and the Senior Associate for Marketing and Membership. Some travel may be required for special events or meetings approximately 5-10% of the time. This is a hybrid-work position with regular required work in office and flexible remote work arrangements as part of the regular schedule. ResponsibilitiesSupport the administrative requirements of the Development Department including processing and tracking expenses for the Membership unit submitting check requests to the Finance Department and supporting the Development Coordinator.Prepare and send acknowledgement letters and print welcome series for UUSC supporters.Assist with advocacy and engagement efforts including direct mail petitions and member surveys.Perform regular file maintenance to ensure integrity of the donor records and database.Send segmented email communications to UUSCs members and supporters.Assist Senior Associate for Marketing and Membership with preparation of materials for Work Place Giving programs and state registration program as needed.Support the Senior Digital Fundraising Officer with reports data entry and content review and approvals.Assist with the production and mailing of in-house donor communications including Rights Now the Annual Report cultivation postcards and other projects as assigned.Participate in agency and departmental meetings events and activities and serve as the membership teams representative as appropriate.Act as primary backup for the Development Department Coordinator and the Senior Associate for Marketing and Membership.Serve as part of UUSCs reception team to answer member inquiries and requests whether over the phone or through clear and concise email communications.Perform other related duties as necessary or as assigned by supervisor.Required and Desired Qualifications Associates Degree or equivalent skills and knowledge from experience Bachelors Degree preferredTwo to three years relevant experience preferredAbility to set up and maintain administrative systemsStrong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with fundraising database operation preferredSolid organizational skills and precise in managing logistical detailsCustomer service and/or vendor management experience preferredTime and project management skills are essential including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously meet deadlines and prioritize workSelf-starter with experience working independently and in teamsStrong written and oral communication skillsSolid problem-solving and decision-making skillsDemonstrated commitment to UUSCs human rights missionPhysical Requirements Physical requirements include the ability to operate a laptop and cellular phone and other tools as related to the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Occasionaltravel may be required for special events or meetings less than 5% of the time.All employees can be based in any state where UUSC is registered as a business including MA ME CT NY MD Washington D.C. VA NC FL GA WA. Hybrid employees must live within commuting distance to the Cambridge MA office and be available for weekly commuting to work in Cambridge.
