We are a privately-owned, correctional healthcare provider that offers compassionate, comprehensive medical and mental health care to the underserved populations of our communities.We are hiring for the following:Position: Licensed Mental Health ProfessionalLocation: Norfolk City JailPay Rate: (dependent on licensure)Responsibilities:Collect information about patients through interview, case history review, and/or observational techniques; evaluate data to identify focus of treatment interventions and determine proper therapeutic approach or referral to other specialistsProvide crisis management, and/or short-term solution-focused therapy to patients as appropriate; provide therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as requiredDemonstrate knowledge of DSM-5 criteria and appropriate interventionsInitiate an interdisciplinary treatment plan and participate in the ongoing treatment planning processConsult with other mental health practitioners, healthcare staff and correctional professionals, as appropriate in the performance of therapeutic and/or caseworkDocument patient’s activities and progressFollow up to determine reliability of treatment used; change treatment interventions when indicatedParticipate in the review of clinical issues and program policies and proceduresFollow established policies, procedures, professional standards, all federal, state and local guidelines, continuous quality improvement and safety, environmental, and infection control standardsWill adhere to MEDIKO’s Standards of Professional ConductRespond to requests from correctional staff as well as MEDIKO Staff in accordance with MEDIKO and Facility Guidelines.
