Job Title: Mental Health Specialist, FSU PrimaryHealth Location: Tallahassee, FL Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 61629 Department College of Medicine | Florida Medical Practice PlanFSU PrimaryHealth™2911 Roberts Ave, Tallahassee, FL 32310Responsibilities Responsible for providing direct psychotherapy for individuals, groups, marital couples, and families. Provides appropriate referrals and consultations with other agencies and organizations as necessary. Trained and comfortable seeing childrenand adults.Assist with Medicaid and other payer source enrollments and help client understand their health insurance benefits. Maintain current directory of community resources in anticipation of the needs of the client to assist with referrals to healthcare resources and resources for assistance with social determinants of health. Track patient in appropriate electronic medical record or registry.Conduct screening and risk assessment interventions as they relate to mental health. Identify needs of clients and connect them to resources in the community. Advise for the patient and coordinate behavioral health treatment with primarycare and behavioral health providers and consult and participate in the care plan of the patient. Educate provider, patient and family on behavior health issues and substance use disorders including symptoms, relapse prevention, stress reductionand healthy lifestyle choices. Design appropriate health interventions using evidence-based treatment.Participate in peer review and quality improvement efforts designed to optimize the efficacy of services provided. Attend and participate in COM professional and administrative committees as they relate to FMPP clinical practices. May conductcase presentations, special projects and other related assignments as assigned. Actively participate with other medical staff in implementing approved policies and procedures.Work cooperatively in a multi-disciplinary setting, which may include Psychiatrists, nurses, ancillary staff, social workers, and health and wellness units and programs. Collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to discuss cases as part of the team. May serve as a supervisor to students.Qualifications Master's Degree or higher.One of the following valid FL licenses is required prior to hire: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification issued by a certifying agency, or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
