Position: MEP Manager, Electrical Cx Location: Madison, WI Job Id: 781 # of Openings: 1 MEP Manager, Electrical CxLocation: Remote - preferably in Madison WI areaPosition SummaryThe MEP Manager, Electrical Cx manages commissioning of data center critical systems including generators, switchgears, UPSs, PDUs, and various other equipment. This person is responsible for conducting reviews of client design packages, monitoring, and analyzing FAT and First of Kind equipment Level 1 thru 5 tests and developing O&M documentation to serve as a reference for data center electrical equipment. The Data Center Commissioning Engineer is critical in the company's continued success and growth by ensuring that testing has been executed and the client's data centers operate at maximum operational efficiency.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage projects, plans, provide and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary engineering commissioning role for large facility projects.Adhere to a thorough quality management/QC process and procedures throughout commissioning activities.Participate in daily commissioning activity meetings including equipment pre-start-up and start-up procedures, development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Methods of Procedures (MOPs), and comprehensive commissioning documentation.Prepare commissioning test procedures and reports; develop and maintain commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and other tools to track commissioning projects.Write comprehensive reports including recommendations for optimizing building operations, functional checklists, list of deficiencies, and equipment operation and maintenance manuals.Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning.Perform integrated system testing, load bank testing, and compile all testing procedure results.Develop and administer functional tests for various systems such as electrical distribution systems, UPS, standby generators, etc.System assembly and commission plan preparation; follow company QC processes and procedures.Help lead and manage any external resources; schedule and direct periodic commissioning meetings; attend construction and coordination meetings as required.Interface with clients, contractors, equipment vendors, and owners' agents as needed; execute project assignments; collaborate with engineering, design, and other company departments.Verify results of test reports; assist with field troubleshooting of commissioned equipment as needed.Utilize field experience in the operation and application of Power Quality Analyzers, Power Disturbance Analyzers, Data loggers, and related system testing equipment.Willingness to travel up to 100% to job locations.Must be a US CitizenQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education / Experience (Desired):Bachelor's or Associate Degree in engineering a plus or comparable experience10 years' experience in the Engineering FieldA/E experience working in complex facilities or mission critical projects is a big plusPrevious Data Center / Mission Critical experience is a mustElectrical equipment testing experience in a Critical Facilities / facility environmentExperience with IEEE/ASHRAE procedures and protocols is a plusPossess basic knowledge of systems design for various projectsComputer Skills:Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft ProjectCertificates and Licenses:No certificates or licenses required.Supervisory Responsibilities:No supervisory responsibilities with this position.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; standing and walking is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
