Job Title
The (USA) Merchant leads category strategy development and execution for a moderately complex category, driving financial performance through pricing, promotion, and supplier management.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute category strategies aligned with long-term business objectives, incorporating pricing, promotion, and channel decisions.
Manage profit and loss for assigned categories by analyzing daily business performance and adjusting financial plans accordingly.
Lead supplier negotiations, establishing terms, performance metrics, and communication protocols to drive profitability and price leadership.
Oversee assortment planning, modular layouts, and product placement to optimize customer experience across channels.
Utilize data analytics to inform decisions, identify opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage and develop team members, setting performance expectations and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Support execution of business plans by removing obstacles and aligning cross-functional resources.
Qualifications
Proven experience in category and channel strategy development for moderately complex categories.
Strong financial management skills, including profit and loss ownership and budget forecasting.
Expertise in supplier management, negotiation, and performance tracking.
Ability to analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to inform decisions.
Demonstrated team management capabilities, including coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
Proficiency in leveraging data analytics and digital tools to drive strategic initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field and 3 years' experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area OR 5 years' experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.
