This is a 2nd shift position.The Metallurgical Lab Technician will:Work in a materials laboratory using cut-off saws mounting presses light microscopes and image analysis softwarePrepare samples for metallographic analysis by sectioning mounting polishing and etchingCompare microstructures against standards and approve/reject process control sampleQualificationsAssociates Degree or Certificate in metallurgical or materials science or at least 2 years of experience working in a materials laboratory performing metallographic analysisCapable of lifting 50 pounds from floor to height of 25 inches capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds have a grip strength of at least 50 pounds and be able to reach above shoulder 65 inches above floor level (minimum).Responsible for and accountable for product safety and the quality of work including as a minimum all elements defined in the Companys Quality Policy.US Citizenship required.Position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
