The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Rockford seeking Metrology Technicians who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit. Key Responsibilities Perform calibration of measurement tools gauges and equipment. Operate and program advanced metrology equipment (e.g. CMM optical comparators laser scanners). Conduct precise dimensional inspections of manufactured parts and assemblies. Analyze measurement data interpret engineering drawings and generate detailed inspection reports. Maintain accurate calibration records and documentation in accordance with quality standards. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement equipment and inspection processes. Assist in the development and improvement of metrology procedures and best practices. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in operating various metrology equipment (e.g. CMMs optical comparators precision hand tools). Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Experience with calibration processes measurement system analysis (MSA) and metrology software. Solid understanding of measurement principles uncertainty and quality standards. Technical degree or certificate in Metrology Quality Assurance or a related field or equivalent practical experience. Bonus Qualifications Experience with programming or scripting for data analysis and automation (e.g. Python VBA). ASQ GD&T Professional certification or advanced application of GD&T principles. Proficiency with specialized metrology software (e.g. PolyWorks GOM Inspect Minitab for SPC). Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
