Job DescriptionJob DescriptionApex is seeking a skilled and driven Manufacturing Engineer to join our premier client's team in Lynchburg, OH! This role focuses on designing and improving manufacturing processes, supporting new product development, and ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and a passion for driving continuous improvement.What's in it for you:1st shift opportunity – Monday to Friday from 6am-2:30amCompetitive entry level hourly rate: $55,000-$65,000, based on experienceContract-to-hire position - you'll be hired based on attendance, performance and client needsAmazing benefit package once hired in permanentlyPotential relocation allowanceMedical, Dental and Vision401KPaid vacationWhat you'll be doing:Design and develop manufacturing processes for new products.Collaborate with the product design team to provide recommendations and support during prototype development.Lead process improvements to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance production output.Troubleshoot new and existing manufacturing issues to ensure consistent quality and reliability.Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in design, tolerances, or processing methods.Develop tooling, fixtures, and component preparation equipment to streamline production and reduce manual tasks such as hand clipping.Provide technical expertise and support related to manufacturing processes and equipment.Monitor processes and equipment for risks, hazards, and potential safety concerns.Support improvements in material handling, workflow efficiency, and inventory control practices.What you bring to the table:Knowledge of SMT (surface-mount) and PTH (plated-through-hole) production equipment, including PREP, SPI (solder-paste inspection), component placement (pick-and-place), reflow ovens, AOI (automated optical inspection), and wave soldering.Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodology; experience leading or supporting continuous-improvement projects is a plus.Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for data analysis, reporting and documentation.Minimum of Associate's Degree in applicable industryAt Apex, we actively encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
