Mid-Level or Senior Aircraft Safety EngineerCompany:The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Defense Air Dominance Division Systems Safety & Mission Assurance organization is looking for a Mid-Level (Level 3) or Senior (Level 4) Aircraft Safety Engineer with Aircraft Safety Engineer with manufacturing and systems safety experience to join our US Navy Unmanned MQ-25 Stingray program in Mascoutah IL or Berkeley MO. As a member of the Safety engineering organization you will have the opportunity working directly with our customers & other program teammates including systems engineering software engineering mission systems platform systems flight engineering production and flight testing.As an aircraft safety engineer you will be responsible for working closely with other engineering disciplines to assess aircraft hardware/software/firmware design to identify all potential safety hazards and propose solutions to reduce or eliminate hazards to ensure product safety and customer mission success. Work scope includes safety hazard analysis/mitigation with issues identified during manufacturing and flight testing of our aircraft.We are looking for individuals with a strong background in aircraft systems and aircraft manufacturing. Enthusiastic and highly collaborative engineers with a passion for technical details in both hardware and software. Experience in MIL-STD 882 JSSSEH DO-178/DO-254 standards is highly desirable.Ideal candidates are someone with aircraft manufacturing experience and strong critical thinking skills. Someone that works well in a team environment ability to apply Seek Speak and Listen approach to effectively connect and build relationship with teammates and customers. Strong written and oral communication is also an important attribute we are looking for.Primary responsibilities: Participates in research and analysis to identify potential or reported manufacturing issues (e.g. non-conformances quality escape FOD etc..) and risks and safety concernsSupports identifying safety and mission assurance issue systemic root causes and recommends corrective actions using Boeing best practicesSupports defining and validating safety mission success and airworthiness; provides support incorporating into designs operations and proceduresParticipates in tests analyses inspections audits and simulations to verify system meet defined safety and mission assurance requirementsContributes by documenting safety analysis hazard mitigation validation and verification activities in compliance with relevant customer and regulatory safety standardsSupports creating and maintaining product safety and corrective action plansThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Mascoutah Illinois or Berkeley Missouri. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer scienceLevel 3: 9 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceLevel 4: 14 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience in aerospace systems including MIL-STD 882 safety hazard analysis air vehicle subsystems hardware and software design build & test5 years of experience in aircraft manufacturing maintenance fleet operationsAbility to travel 50%Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):5 years of experience in Systems Safety Hazard Analysis (SSHA) Software Safety Analysis Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) or equivalent.
