Terms of Employment• W2 Contract, 24 months• This position is On-Site• The office is located in Windsor Mill, MD (with travel once a week to Bethesda, MD)• Shift Schedule: M-F 09:00 AM-05:00 PMOverviewOur client is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide crucial IT support for real-time systems within their electric operations and distribution control rooms. This role is a 2-year contract and involves supporting control room operations and distribution operations at BGE and PHI. Key activities include supporting enterprise-level datacenters , and working on hardware refresh projects for storage infrastructure, servers, and real-time system workstationsResponsibilities• Provide Windows 10/11 Desktop Support and troubleshooting for Windows workstations.• Offer support for Server Hardware, including troubleshooting hardware failures.• Support control room operations for transmission and distribution at BGE and PHI.• Support enterprise-level datacenters utilizing hardware from HPE, Dell, Cisco MDS, and NetApp storage.• Participate in refresh projects for storage infrastructure, server hardware for multiple utility projects , and real-time system workstations.• Comfortable with imaging Windows workstations and supporting the Windows Operating System.• Familiarity with IT Change Management processes.• Interface with the business, including control room operators, technical leads, and managementRequired Skills & Experience• Associates degree or higher.• At least 2 years of experience supporting IT systems at a medium to large company• Desktop Support for Windows 10 & 11.• Experience with Server Hardware Support and troubleshooting failures• Familiarity with HPE OneView and Dell Open Manage.• Knowledge of Windows Networking and TCP/IP networking.• Familiarity with domain administration.• Experience with ticketing/service management tools like ServiceNow and JIRA.• Familiarity with IT Change Management.• Familiar with latest generations of server and desktop hardware.• Experience with NERC CIP.• Must have reliable transportation to travel between the EOB and BCC sites.• Strong Communication Skills to interface with the business in control rooms, technical leads, and management• Leadership abilityTechnical Skills• Primary Skills: Desktop Support, Windows 10 & 11, Server Hardware Support, Windows Networking, ServiceNow, JIRA, Change Management, NERC CIP Experience, Strong Communication, Leadership• Secondary Skills: NetApp, VMware, Cisco MDS, PowerCLI, PowerShell________________________________________nTech is an equal opportunity employer.
