The MIG Flux Welder plays a critical role in fabricating and assembling metal components by setting up and operating MIG and flux welding equipment. Working under the Welding Supervisor and collaborating closely with Quality Inspectors as part of a welding team, this role focuses on producing high-quality welds on pressure vessels and custom fabrications. Emphasizing safety and precision, the welder ensures compliance with specifications while maintaining equipment and adhering to established safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate MIG and flux welding equipment to join metal components
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings
• Perform welds on pressure vessels and custom fabrications following project specifications
• Collaborate with fitters and quality inspectors to ensure weld quality and consistency
• Inspect welds visually and with gauges for compliance with quality standards
• Perform routine equipment maintenance including cleaning and adjustment of welding machines
• Adhere strictly to safety procedures including use of personal protective equipment

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in MIG and flux welding
• AWS (American Welding Society) welding certification
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to welding operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience welding pressure vessels and custom fabrications
