JOB DESCRIPTION
Mig Or Tig Welder
Mig or Tig welder $23/hr to $27/hr plus $1.50 shift differential Day shift: Monday to Friday
Position Summary
Structural welding involves the fabrication and assembly of customer-specified buildings, ensuring precision, strength, and durability. Welders work with steel and other metals to construct frameworks, support structures, and customized components that meet exact specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
Role and Responsibilities
Read and interpret specifications & blueprints.
Lay out, fit, or connect parts to be welded, calculating production measurements, as necessary.
Set up & operate welding machines to fabricate metal products or assemblies.
Troubleshoot welding equipment problems.
Assemble, align, and clamp workpieces into holding fixtures to weld fabricated metal components according to design and specifications.
Inspect, measure, or test completed metal workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using measuring and testing devices.
Work with overhead cranes and forklifts.
Perform other shop duties such as cutting, assembly or kitting when needed.
Ensure safety, quality, production processes are followed; Uses required PPE and safely operates welding machines and tools.
Ensures that all cleaning and maintenance schedules are completed and maintained to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
A willingness to cross train and assist in other shop functions as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Ability to pass 3g fcaw test.
Ability to pass 3g gmaw test.
High school diploma or equivalent
Trade school certificate in welding a plus
Minimum of one year preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally.
Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking/sitting.
Manual dexterity and mobility.
