Job DescriptionJob DescriptionEssential Functions:Receives instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection work to be done.Inspects plant/refinery equipment for defects, such as, misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc.Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.Advises when immediate shut-down of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect.Dismantle, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, and lubricates mechanical equipment.Adjusts equipment for proper operating characteristics.Makes either temporary or permanent repairs.Assembles and aligns gears, bearings, and shafts involving the application of press, sliding, and running fits.Operates simple machine tools, such as, drill press, pipe-threading machine, and power saw.Changes, sets up and adjusts equipment as required by current operating conditions.Works with repair crews as directed on emergency breakdowns.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:Must have a minimum of four (4) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience. Must have a general knowledge of basic hand and power tools. Must be able to assemble, install and test machines and equipment to make sure they are working correctly.Able to use machinery or equipment, such as forklifts to move mechanical parts.Experience overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing defective pieces and lubricating mechanical partsMust be able to manage the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtimeMust be able to pass the Millwright Skills Test at or above 70% or complete the NCCER certification for your craft. Must complete the Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training.
