The Millwright Foreman directs and oversees the operations of the Millwrights to ensure compliant work products. Operations such as installs new machines or heavy equipment and dismantles and installs machines or heavy equipment when changes in the plan layout are required.Job Duties:Planning and laying out workInterpreting blueprints or other specificationsUsing a variety of hand tools and riggingMaking standard shop computations relating to stresses strength of materials and centers of gravity aligning and balancing equipment selecting standard tools equipment and parts to be used and installing and maintaining in good order power transmission equipment such as drives and speed reducers.Qualifications and Experience: In general the Millwrights work normally requires a rounded training and experience in the trade acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.Work Environment:Indoor and outdoor working environments. May include test areas test stands laboratories chambers machine shops cold and hot weather environments heights and confined spaces. Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation): Standing walking bending kneeling crouching reaching and working in awkward positions to access work areasThe use of tools associated with the positionLifting up to 40 lbs.Must use proper PPE for all tasksOther Essential Functions (with or without reasonable accommodation): Must be able to communicate with peers supervisors and customersMust be able to work independently or in a teamMust be able to follow written and verbal instructionsClearance:Must meet eligibility for a Public Trust background investigation for government issued credentials and IT access.
