Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOur Millwright is a key player in a company-wide continuous improvement effort through daily use of troubleshooting, and predictive and preventative maintenance strategies. As a member of this high performing team, you will be responsible for being a team player and working safely with all machinery within the mill.All updates about your application will be sent to the email you provided. Please do not call for application status updates.Six-inch lace-up safety-toe boots are required for this position. New hires are responsible for purchasing their own boots and must have them for orientation.What you will do:Repair and maintain industrial equipment to include conveying systems, major machine centers such as debarkers, canters, gang saws, and edgersPerform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure "Just in time" maintenanceMove machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucksAdjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary partsAlign machines such as pumps, sheaves, and sprockets using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb toolsAssemble and install equipment, using hand tools and power toolsLay out mounting holes, using measuring instruments, and drill holes with power drillReplace defective parts of machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving partsLevel bedplate and establish centerline, using straightedge, levels, and transitDismantle machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand toolsAttach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly unit, using hand tools and power toolAttend Company Specific Mechanical TrainingsWhat you need to be successful:Must have High School Diploma or GEDMust be a self-starter who can work safely under high-pressure situationsMust successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background checkMust be willing to travel and complete the West Fraser Qualified Millwright training program.Must be safety oriented and comply with ZESAble to read and understand drawings and printed instructionsMust pass the trade qualifications testMust be willing and able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as neededWilling and able to climb stairs, ladders, or work in elevated areasWilling to work in confined areasMust be able to navigate around tablets to perform documentation of maintenance activitiesSkills and experience that will make you stand out:Cutting torch experience (Oxygen/Acetylene)Welding experience (GMAW and SMAW)Previous Millwright experience Outstanding benefits package including:Benefits starting Day 1Competitive starting payOn-the-job trainingA culture that strongly believes in promoting from withinMedical, Dental & Vision401K with company match and additional retirement contributionEmployee Stock Purchase PlanLife InsuranceDisability InsurancePaid vacations and holidaysApply:If you are ready to build your career in a company that thrives on growth, a safe work environment, rewarding work, challenge, and opportunity, come build your career with us at West Fraser: https://www.westfraser.com/careers/current-opportunitiesWe thank all candidates for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
