Mixer Operator at Manpower
JOB DESCRIPTION
Mixer Production
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour Shift: 4:00 AM 12:30 PM (Weekend and overtime as required)
Position Summary
The Mix Person plays a critical role in the production process by preparing and mixing high-quality product according to established formulations and procedures. This position is essential to starting each day's production and directly impacts overall efficiency, quality, and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and demonstrate working knowledge of Mix Systems 1, 2, 3, and 4, as well as EMS.
- Mix product accurately according to specifications, formulations, and mix procedures.
- Verify correct ingredients, weights, lot numbers, and manufacturers; record all information accurately on batch sheets.
- Check off ingredients on mix sheets as they are used.
- Make batch adjustments to achieve required pH, fats, solids, and other quality parameters.
- Operate forklift equipment safely.
- Assist batch personnel in weighing ingredients for upcoming production.
- Unload oil, sugar, and corn syrup deliveries and pull samples for quality control.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe mix room environment.
- Follow all plant safety rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and standard operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.
- Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction.
Experience
- Six months to one year of manufacturing or production experience preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of weights, measurements, and mix formulations.
- Ability to perform precise visual inspections and accurately interpret results.
- Knowledge of how each stage of processing affects the finished product.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating within a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move approximately 70100 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Routine use of hands, arms, legs, and upper body in moderate to strenuous activity.
- Operation of production machinery, hand and power tools, and equipment at varying speeds.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions at a rapid pace throughout the shift.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat/cold, oils, and other production elements.
- Somewhat undesirable conditions may be present for extended periods.
