Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit which develops Blue Origins Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origins mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.As a Senior Project Engineer you will report to the MK2 Program Operations Director and drive operational excellence and velocity for the MK2 team. You will act support the Operations Director to drive execution of various initiatives across the MK2 vehicle team. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and attention towards safe and reliable spaceflight.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Lead and facilitate program decision and risk review boards for human spaceflight systems driving clear outcomes and accountability while ensuring alignment with program objectivesProactively identify track and drive resolution of risks across the human lunar landing program not merely documenting issues but actively working with teams to implement solutionsCommunicate and support the execution of the vision strategic goals priorities and performance metrics across the organizationWork closely with program management engineering supply chain and production teams to integrate product development efforts and remove obstacles to progressCollaborate with Integrated Product Team leadership and external manufacturing partners to drive product lifecycle stages to mature productionDevelop and implement robust risk management strategies for human-rated systems including characterizing risks/opportunities creating mitigation plans and actively monitoring outcomesCoach and train team members on effective use of risk management processes and tools fostering a culture of proactive risk identificationCreate comprehensive reports on program risks with actionable insights for leadershipDrive decision velocity by establishing clear frameworks gathering necessary information and facilitating timely resolution of open itemsProvide and implement recommendations to improve risk tracking tools metrics and reports measuring both risk management performance and process effectivenessIdentify cross-functional dependencies and work with teams to establish clear ownership and accountability for resolutionMinimum Qualifications:5 years system development/integration experience or project management experience preferably with aerospace hardware or complex technical systems including some aspect of product development risk managementFamiliar with structured risk management plans & risk monitoringProven ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with staff at all levels of the organization external stakeholders and customersExcellent technical writing and presentation skillsProficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint)B.S./B.A. degree in engineering or other technical fieldPreferred Qualifications:Experience with human spaceflight systems and human-rating requirementsRisk management experience in safety-critical industriesExperience with Confluence & JIRAExperience with Tableau or Microsoft BIPMP CertificationLean Six Sigma CertificationAbility to leverage artificial intelligence to support automationDemonstrated success driving resolution of complex cross-functional issuesExperience facilitating decision-making processes in technical environmentsCompensation Range for:WA applicants is $140959.00-$197342.25Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDont meet all desired requirements Studies have shown that some people are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single desired qualification.
