Start your career with us and make a difference in our patients journey to recovery! 8-hour evening shifts between hours of 2:00pm-12:00am Every 4th weekend rotation 1-2 holidays/year Qualified MLT or MLS candidates eligible North Dakota MLT or MLS state license required prior to start date ASCP or AMT certification required within 12 months of employment Sanford Broadway Medical Center is a major medical center located in downtown Fargo that provides comprehensive award-winning care for patients from across the Midwest. Connected to it is the Sanford Broadway Clinic the largest multispecialty clinic in the region with over 50 medical specialties and subspecialties.SummaryResponsible for pre-analytical analytical and post-analytical phases of testing. Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety quality and regulatory requirements are met.Job DescriptionCollect laboratory specimens as needed. Process lab specimens and perform clinical laboratory testing including manual and automated methods in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures. Demonstrate skill in use of equipment relevant to position. Demonstrate critical and independent judgement in decision-making and problem-solving. Demonstrate personal commitment to the principles values and ethics of the organization to promote a positive work environment. Seek personal learning opportunities. Recognize safety hazards and comply with all safety practices and protocols. Assist in training new staff. Serve as a laboratory resource. Perform other related duties as assigned. May be required to travel to other locations.QualificationsBachelors degree in laboratory or biological sciences required. Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or be registry eligible. Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) also acceptable. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment. If working in North Dakota (ND) must be licensed by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice. Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications.
