Kindergarten Teaching Assistant (32-40 hours per week)K8 Arts-Integrated Charter SchoolWere seeking a caring patient and collaborative Kindergarten Teaching Assistant to support a vibrant early childhood classroom in our small arts-integrated charter school. This role is designed for someone who loves working with young children and is committed to equitable inclusive educationespecially through providing thoughtful individualized support.A key component of this position includes supporting students with additional needs and working closely with teachers and specialists to ensure each student can grow academically socially and 3240 hours per weekPosition may include recess lunch or after-school coverageMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentSuccessful completion of a CORI/background checkPreferred Qualifications1 year of experience working with young children or students with disabilitiesExperience or interest in inclusive student-centered early childhood educationWhat Youll DoIn the Classroom:Foster a warm safe joyful learning environment with the classroom teacherProvide one-on-one and small-group support during lessons centers and play-based learningSupport students with transitions routines self-regulation and foundational academic skillsOffer observational feedback to the classroom teacher and SPED team about student needs and progressSupervise the class when the teacher is temporarily unavailable (lesson plans provided)Attend planning meetings SPED consultations and professional developmentSpecial Education Support & Individualized ServicesProvide daily services to assigned students as outlined in their IEPsImplement accommodations modifications and visual supports as directed by the SPED teamFollow and support Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) including implementing strategies for reinforcement de-escalation and skill-buildingCollect ongoing data on student progress behaviors and interventions; submit documentation according to school proceduresCollaborate with special educators related service providers and the classroom teacher to adjust supports as neededClassroom SupportPrepare and organize materials for lessons centers and hands-on activitiesAssist with clerical tasks such as organizing student work or tracking assignmentsHelp create classroom visuals displays and student work showcasesSchool-Wide ResponsibilitiesSupervise students during lunch recess or other unstructured times as assignedContribute to after-school programs when neededSupport an inclusive positive school climateMaintain student confidentiality and follow all staff policiesSupervision & EvaluationReport to the classroom teacher SPED team and the Director of Student SupportParticipate in performance check-ins throughout the yearTake part in a formal performance evaluation in the springWho We AreWe are a K8 charter school grounded in arts integration mixed-age learning and hands-on exploration.
