Job DescriptionJob DescriptionGeneral SummaryProvide information on Credit Union products and services to members according to all Credit Union policies and procedures, and Federal and State rules and regulations. Interview applicants for Real Estate Loans to include In- house Financing, Conventional, FHA, USDA, HELOC’s, Refinances, and VA loans. Prepare, analyze, process and document all required forms and related documentation for Real Estate Loans. Promote credit union products and services. Job Specifications Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills essential for interviewing loan applicants and projecting a positive image as representative of the credit union.This is a non-commissioned, hourly based position. Work requires knowledge and experience in mortgage loan originating and processing, credit granting criteria, interest rates and how they are computed, and required documentation for each type of loan. Knowledge of interviewing skills and techniques required.Previous knowledge and experience with all loan programs such as conventional, VA, FHA, USDA.At least two years of experience in a mortgage lending department or branch office of a credit union or financial institution required. NMLS# required.Preferred specifications: Experience with Calyx, Meridian Link. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or finance.Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.). Work requires sitting for the majority of the day. Work also requires occasional lifting of up to 35 pound and occasional bending, squatting, reaching and kneeling in order to access credit union records.Essential Functions Assist Members in selecting loan programs that best fit their financial goals and needs.Develop mortgage loan business through member seminars and contact with realtors, contractors, and other institutions.Promptly respond to Member’s inquiries, providing accurate information regarding loan programs.Interview loan applicants to document income, debt, and credit history.Obtain and evaluate credit bureau reports on applicants.Run automated approvals through DU, GUS, and/or LP for loans to be sold on secondary market.Delivers all compliance documents and disclosures to meet all regulatory guidelines.Remains current with Credit Union’s Underwriting policies. Prepares the Member(s) for the loan process and keeps ALL parties involved in the process up to date on the status of the loan.Prepare all required loan documentation for In-House loan closings.Coordinates the closing with the Member, closing agent, Realtors and others involved in the transaction.Establish Escrow accounts for Taxes, Homeowner’s Insurance, and Flood Insurance (if applicable) for Mortgage loans.Manage the sale of Mortgage Loans to the secondary market. Ensure that all guidelines are followed, and all pricing and delivery deadlines are met.Cross sell other Credit Union products and services as appropriate to meet Members’ needs while providing exceptional Member Service.Assist Member(s) with servicing of their Real Estate Loans.Manages pipeline from application to closing.Other duties as assigned by the manager of the department.NOTE: The list of essential functions is not exhaustive.
