Responsibilities: Responsible for safely repairing a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment, including performing diagnostic troubleshooting, disassembly, measurement, data collection, failure analysis, repair, reassembly, and functional testing. Equipment serviced may include AC/DC motors, generators, servos, pumps, blowers, gearboxes, and housing. Utilize precision testing and measuring instruments such as high-potential meters, multimeters, AC/DC voltage test panels, growlers, Bar-to-Bar testers, micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, and bearing bore gauges. Performs initial evaluation of equipment to determine operation or run condition. Includes the use of test equipment as dictated by the specific equipment and situation. Records testing and troubleshooting information on applicable forms. Marks equipment for disassembly and photographs as necessary. Dismantle equipment maintaining identification of each component part, labeling and/or photographing as necessary. Determines and documents cause failure. Required Qualification and Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent. A Certificate or Associate's degree in an electrical / mechanical related field preferred. A minimum of 1 to 3 years' experience in electrical / mechanical repair or servicing or completion of an accredited EASA or military training program. Requires diagnostic troubleshooting, disassembly, measurement, data collection, failure analysis, repair, re-assembly, testing and safety abilities at a career skilled tradesman level.
