OverviewThe Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking an enthusiastic team player to join us as Motor Vehicle Call Center Agent!This position will:Handle all incoming calls and electronic inquiries with professionalism and efficiencyProcess various applications accurately and swiftlyManage fees, audits, and weekly statistics with precisionMaintain office supplies and ensure everything is in orderResearch and resolve transactions from all DMV offices across VermontExercise independent judgment within legal guidelinesThis position will help you develop your skills in customer service, administration, and data management while working under the guidance of a dedicated Unit Supervisor who supports your growth. Applicants will have the right to withdraw their applications before finger-printing and/or a background investigation is conducted.Environmental FactorsIncumbents must be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure before the public eye/social media, from written, electronic and from telephone inquiries. Due to significant contact from verbal abuse stress induced illness is a daily risk. Incumbents must be able to multi-task and prioritize unpredictable workloads. Employees must be able to deal with confused, frustrated, and highly upset customers and handle large sums of money. Within the office setting, normal workplace conditions prevail. Incumbents must be able to perform several job duties within several different units possibly in the same day. The incumbent must be able to work faster with minimal notice to assist when staffing shortages occur and various scheduled hours. Private means of transportation may be required. Overtime work may be required.Minimum QualificationsHigh school graduation or equivalent AND one (1) year or more of office administrative experience, that included significant public contact.Preferred QualificationsPrior motor vehicle department experience.Total CompensationAs a State employee you are offered a great career opportunity, but it's more than a paycheck.
