Job Description

We are seeking an MRI Technologist to operate a 3T Siemens Prisma MRI system and perform high-quality research scans including fMRI. This role involves acquiring accurate diagnostic images in alignment with research protocols maintaining a safe MRI environment through thorough safety screening and documenting all procedures with precision. The ideal candidate can work both independently and collaboratively with technologists research assistants and investigators demonstrates strong attention to detail and is comfortable or experienced in imaging pediatric participants.The Institute for Human Neuroscience at Boys Town NE is seeking out a full time MRI Technologists. We are situated in a building just north of the west hospital campus near 137th and Dodge.$5000 Hiring BonusMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:Performs complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of the MRI scanner in accordance with prescribed MRI safety procedures including all patient screening procedures.Assures that for all scans correct patient imaging site patient positioning correct protocols and scan parameters are verified.Positions and instructs patients for MRI scans using immobilization support and protective devices.Administers contrast media if indicated; screens and educates patients regarding contrast media possible reactions and post procedure contrast instructions; implements emergency procedures in response to contrast media reactions.Able to successfully send images to PACS and demonstrate basic knowledge of PACS software.Evaluates MRI scans for technical quality collates processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately labels.Routes images and appropriate history electronically to the interpreting radiologist.Ensures correct charging of procedures and supplies.Participates in department performance improvement and survey readiness activities.Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Radiology service standards.Provides patient care and education according to the patient population served.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of and ability to operate x-ray and MRI equipment and perform studies on all populations served at BTNRH.Ability to place IVs in patients for studies requiring IV contrast.Ability to communicate with and instruct patients of all age groups served at BTNRH.Ability to operate PACS.Ability to use a personal computer and perform data entry.Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.Ability to cover call for MRI within a 30-minute response time.Successfully completes all required continuing education.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Graduate of an AMA approved accredited School of Radiologic Technology or an Education in Radiologic Technology from an approved program in the U.S. Military required.ARRT in Radiography and MRI within 90-days of transfer or hire required.CPR Certified required.If employed in the Cognitive Neuroscience department Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of transfer or hire required.If employed in the Cognitive Neuroscience department Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative(CITI) certification within 30 days of transfer or hire required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of two years experience preferred.
