MRO Buyer

Agave is looking for a driven, dedicated MRO Buyer to oversee the procurement of maintenance supplies, spare parts, and equipment needed for plant operations. In this role, you will manage purchasing activities, ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, and maintain relationships with vendors. You will be responsible for managing inventory and ensuring that all maintenance-related purchases support the operational goals of the facility operating within budget. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement and knowledge of maintenance operations, with a strong ability to manage supplier relationships and optimize purchasing processes.

What We Need You To Do:

  • Oversee the procurement of maintenance-related materials, spare parts, and equipment for the plant, ensuring timely delivery to meet operational needs.
  • Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and materials to ensure availability while minimizing excess stock and storage costs.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure competitive pricing and reliable delivery.
  • Assist in managing the maintenance purchasing budget, tracking spending, and implementing cost-saving strategies without compromising quality or operational efficiency.
  • Confirm that all purchase orders are accurately created, tracked, and processed in a timely manner to prevent delays in maintenance operations.
  • Ensure that all purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry regulations. Provide regular reports on purchasing activities, budget status, and inventory levels.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline purchasing processes, reduce costs, and improve the efficiency of the overall procurement process within the maintenance department.
  • Work closely with the maintenance and operations teams to understand their material needs and ensure alignment with overall plant goals.
  • Complete other work as assigned

What You Need To Possess:

  • High School Diploma with 5 years' experience
  • A self-motivated, adaptable go-getter attitude
  • Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and purchasing software, with the ability to manage purchase orders, inventory, and vendor information efficiently.
  • Proficient in written communication
  • Strong prioritization and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
  • Occasional walking and standing in plant areas.
