Morgan Stanley Family Office (“MSFO”) group partners with Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors across all channels to offer portfolio management services to family office clients of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.ResponsibilitiesServe as Investment Officer to build and manage client portfolios for Single Family Office clientsThe Investment Officer will be responsible for client portfolios’ asset allocation and manager selection as well as risk management and monitoringThe Investment Officer will have responsibilities sourcing, analyzing and advising on private markets co-investment deals and other alternative investmentsEngage with clients to perform client discovery, draft investment policy statements, and provide quarterly reportingEnsure the smooth functioning of administrative and operational activities, including those involving outside custodians and trading, reporting, and client cash flowsPartner with internal advisors and consultants to win new clients and raise new assetsWork with internal research teams to provide clients with periodic market and portfolio updatesPrepare portfolio allocation and performance reports for client investment committee presentationsKnowledge and skills5-10 years of investment-related experience servicing individuals and families in a wealth management or investment consulting capacityExperience in alternative investments, specifically private equity co-investmentsExperience and knowledge in investment/wealth management platforms and vehicles, including managed account platforms, mutual funds, ETFs, separate accounts, and alternative investmentsExperience and knowledge in global capital markets, technical expertise across asset classesFirm understanding of portfolio management concepts including modern portfolio theory, asset allocation, portfolio construction, manager selection, risk management and performance attributionExperience with alternative investment asset classes and concentrated equity positions preferredUnderstanding of UHNW planning techniques and strategies preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPointStrong organizational and project management skillsMust be very detail-oriented, with an ability to multi-task and handle multiple prioritiesExemplary verbal and written communication skillsProactive & hard working with strong professional accountabilityQualificationsUndergraduate degree is requiredGraduate degree, CFA, CAIA and other professional designations are preferredFINRA Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) licenses required or willingness to obtain within 120 days of hire (additional licensing may be required)WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
