You'll combine technical expertise in the modern data stack with exceptional writing skills to transform complex data workflows into clear, actionable guidance.You'll serve as the bridge between engineering innovations and user success, working closely with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to document features, create comprehensive tutorials, and build educational resources that accelerate adoption.Key Responsibilities:Technical Content Creation & DocumentationWrite comprehensive technical documentation based on hands-on experience with MotherDuck featuresCreate step-by-step guides for users to understand the product UI, SQL syntax and how to use MotherDuck and DuckDB from various programming languagesBuild code examples and working examples that showcase product capabilitiesAuthor technical blog posts and articles that educate our developer communityCollaborate with engineering during feature development to ensure optimal developer experienceDeveloper Relations & Community EngagementPartner with product marketing on go-to-market content addressing user challengesEngage with our developer community to identify pain points and documentation needsCreate educational content for conferences, webinars, and community eventsContribute to open source documentation and community resourcesQuality & StandardsEnsure content accuracy, consistency, and adherence to best practicesMaintain up-to-date documentation across platformsTest all code examples and technical procedures to ensure accuracyCollaborate with subject matter experts to validate technical accuracyWhat you bring:3-8 years of technical writing experience in data/analytics, developer tools, modern data stack companies, or equivalentHands-on experience as a data engineer, analytics engineer, data analyst, data scientist, software engineer, or equivalentDeep understanding of modern data stack (dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Looker, etc.)Proficiency in Python and/or other programming languages, plus analytical SQLProven ability to write clear technical documentation from scratch based on personal product experienceStrong project management skills for concurrent projects in fast-paced environmentsCustomer success mindset with experience gathering and acting on user feedbackExperience collaborating with engineering teams and technical stakeholdersComfortable working in fast-paced, distributed team environmentPortfolio demonstrating high-quality technical writing for developer audiencesWhat people should be saying if you’re doing ducking awesome:“Omg, MotherDuck’s docs are ducking awesome.
