Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Municipal Territory Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and expanding relationships with municipalities, counties, and other public-sector entities to promote and secure waste collection, recycling, and disposal service contracts. This role focuses on identifying opportunities for growth within the public sector, responding to RFPs/RFQs, negotiating long-term service agreements, and ensuring customer satisfaction through collaboration with internal operations and customer service teams.Compensation:$70,000 - $85,000 yearlyResponsibilities:Identify and pursue new municipal and government sales opportunities within assigned territory.Develop and maintain strong working relationships with city, county, and public works officials, procurement officers, and other decision-makers.Manage the entire sales cycle, including lead generation, proposal development, pricing, presentations, and contract negotiations.Prepare and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and bid solicitations in accordance with company standards and legal requirements.Collaborate with operations, finance, and legal teams to develop accurate service proposals and ensure contract compliance.Maintain a thorough understanding of company service offerings, operational capabilities, and competitive landscape.Track and report on sales activities, pipeline development, and market trends using CRM tools.Represent the company at municipal meetings, industry conferences, trade shows, and community events.Partner with customer service and operations teams to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention.Stay informed of changes in regulations, ordinances, and waste industry trends that may affect municipal accounts.Qualifications:Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Public Administration, or related field preferred.3–5 years of sales experience in the waste management, recycling, environmental services, or municipal contracting sector required.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong understanding of municipal procurement and bidding processes.Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.Ability to interpret and develop contract language and pricing models.Proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within assigned territory.Performance MetricsAchievement of municipal sales targets and revenue goals.Successful contract renewals and retention rates.Quality and timeliness of proposal submissions.Customer satisfaction and relationship development.Territory growth and new account acquisition.Working ConditionsA combination of office, field, and remote work.Frequent travel to municipal offices, public meetings, and job sites.Occasional evening or weekend work for council meetings or community events.About CompanyBenefits:Comprehensive medical benefits coverage, dental plans, and vision coverageHealthcare and dependent care spending accountsShort- and long-term disabilityLife insurance and accidental death & dismemberment insuranceEmployee and Family Assistance Program (EAP)Employee discount programsRetirement plan with a generous company matchPaid time off
