Job Description SummaryThe Licensed Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) reports to the Division Director. (25%)Interviews client family and any other providers to assess the patients level of functioning strengths and deficits and emotional status. (25%)Develops a comprehensive picture of the clients service and treatment needs. (25%)Serves as a member of the treatment team in the diagnostic evaluation of clients and the identification of treatment objectives. (25%)Required Minimum Training and Education: Masters degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or from a social work program or social welfare program offered by a regionally accredited institution and three years professional social work experience one of which must have included supervisory or administrative experience. Hospital experience in the area of Psychiatry is preferred.Preferred Experience: Previous LISW or LPC experience preferred.Degree of Supervision: LISW or LPC will be assigned a Primary Supervising/Collaborating Physician employed by MUSC and will report directly to this physician.Required Licensure Certifications Registrations: Masters degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or from a social work program or social welfare program offered by a regionally accredited institution. Physical Requirements: Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist kneel climb stairs reach in all directions fully use both hands and legs possess good finger dexterity perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use initially and as required. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift lower push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (/-) unassisted exert up to 50 lbs of force lift from 36 to overhead 25 lbs.
