Who we are looking forWe are looking for a senior technology leader to co-lead the eFX and FX Front Office Technology organization, responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing technology solutions supporting State Street Markets FX Sales & Trading.The role leads a globally distributed engineering organization, partnering closely with business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-performance trading platforms while ensuring strong regulatory compliance, operational resilience, and continuous improvement across systems and processes.eFX and FX Front Office Technology a multi-platform engineering organization that builds bespoke electronic FX trading solutions operating globally on a follow-the-sun basis. These systems are large, mesh-based, service-oriented platforms deployed across multiple data centers and process significant trading flow daily. The platform supports: Electronic market making, Client algorithmic trading, Pricing systems, Order management systems, Straight-through processing (STP) applicationsThis is a business-facing leadership role requiring the ability to operate effectively at a senior level across both technology and front-office stakeholders. Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.The successful candidate will possess deep knowledge of FX Spot, Forwards, Swaps, Benchmarks, and eNDF trading, along with extensive experience in electronic trading technology and leading high-performing global teams.Why this role is important to useFX is a strategic business initiative with a multi-year expansion plan and is central to the firm’s electronic trading growth and client franchise. This role is critical to:Delivering scalable, high-performance FX trading platformsEnabling new trading capabilities and client solutionsMaintaining strong risk, control, and operational resilienceWhat you will be responsible forAs NA Head of eFX and FX Front Office Technology, you will be responsible for:Technology Strategy & Platform OwnershipDefine and execute the technology strategy for eFX and FX front-office platforms aligned to business prioritiesOwn the design, development, and operation of low-latency, high-throughput trading systems, ensuring performance, scalability, and availabilityMaintain overall accountability for platform stability and production integrityBusiness Alignment & Delivery ExecutionPartner with Trading, Sales, Quants, and Product teams to deliver trading capabilities and client functionalityTranslate business priorities into technology roadmaps and execution plansOversee the planning, budgeting, and delivery of initiatives across platforms, enhancements, and integrationsEnsure delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams in a global, follow-the-sun modelSupport growth in electronic trading volumes and client franchise through scalable and differentiated technology capabilitiesOrganization LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global engineering organization across development, QA, and deliveryDrive a culture of ownership, accountability, and engineering excellenceEnsure effective coordination across global, distributed teamsEngineering Excellence & AI EnablementDrive engineering standards across code quality, SDLC, and release managementPromote adoption of:AI-assisted development practices (e.g., code generation, testing automation)Agentic workflows to improve developer productivity and operational efficiencyLead implementation of AI-driven capabilities to enhance:Decision support and analyticsAutomation across engineering and operationsRisk, Compliance & ResiliencyEnsure all systems and processes comply with regulatory, internal policy, and control requirementsMaintain strong adherence to enterprise resiliency, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity standardsProtect sensitive financial data and ensure business continuity across critical platformsVendor & Platform ManagementManage relationships with external vendors and technology partnersEnsure optimal performance and value realization from third-party servicesWhat we value These skills will help you succeed in this role:Strong leadership capability with experience managing global engineering organizationsDeep business knowledge of FX Spot, Swaps, Forwards, and eNDF marketsExperience with large-scale distributed electronic trading platformsExperience in high-frequency and automated trading environmentsStrong understanding and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning in trading and operations ; Agentic systems and workflow automation ; AI-assisted software development practices ; Ability to operate under pressure and manage competing prioritiesProven ability to deliver across multiple parallel workstreamsStrong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholdersEducation & Preferred Qualifications15+ years of experience in front-office trading technology, preferably within FXProven track record leading large-scale electronic trading platformsExperience in performance engineering / low latency systemsDemonstrated experience driving AI adoption Prior experience in a bank or hedge fund environmentMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline preferredStrong communicator with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholdersWork RequirementHybrid work requirementSalary Range: $170,000 - $267,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
