We're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Network Administrator to support the U.S. Navy in keeping critical systems running smoothly, securely, and at peak performance. Position Description: The Network Administrator manages and maintains the critical U.S. Navy network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity across all systems and users.Minimum/General Experience: 5 years of experience in network administration including WLAN; 2 years of experience with Aruba wireless network devices; 2 years of experience configuring PALO ALTO firewalls; 2 years of experience with Orchestrator management interface (preferred)Minimum Education: Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related fieldEssential Skills/Qualifications:Above average knowledge of network administration including installing, administering, and troubleshooting network hardware (e.g., hotel Wi-Fi services)Above average knowledge of network monitoring and server management tools Above average knowledge of network security principles, firewalls, and intrusion detection systemsAbove average experience maintaining compliance and providing guidance on security requirementsAbove average experience with PALO ALTO firewallsAbove average experience with Aruba wireless network devices Excellent oral and written communication skills  Strong attention to detail skills  Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships  Ability to collaborate and problem-solve in a team environment  General Physical Requirements needed to perform the essential functions of this job may vary based on the location of the assignment. Assignment Location - COMNAVSURFLANT (CNSL), Naval Base, Norfolk, VA; Consists of travel up to a 50-mile radius.Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Typing, communicating, repetitive motions. Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, view computer monitors and read.
