Job Title: Network Design Lead Engineer Location: Grand Forks North Dakota Experience: 12 Years Employment Type: Contract Interview Type: In-Person or Webcam Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Network Design Lead Engineer to join our team in Grand Forks this role you will be responsible for leading the design architecture and implementation of complex network solutions across our enterprise environment. You will work closely with IT leadership project teams and stakeholders to ensure that network systems are robust secure and scalable to support organizational needs. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and architecture of enterprise network solutions including LAN WAN SD-WAN and data center networks. Develop and maintain network design standards best practices and documentation. Evaluate recommend and implement network technologies to improve performance reliability and security. Collaborate with IT teams architects and vendors to deliver end-to-end network solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and team members. Analyze network performance identify bottlenecks and recommend optimizations. Lead network infrastructure projects from conception through deployment ensuring alignment with business goals. Conduct risk assessments network capacity planning and scalability analysis. Ensure compliance with security policies regulatory requirements and industry standards. Stay current with emerging networking technologies and trends to inform future network strategy. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience). 12 years of experience in network design architecture and implementation. Proven expertise in enterprise network technologies including routing switching firewalls VPNs SD-WAN and wireless networking. Strong knowledge of network protocols IP addressing VLANs and QoS. Hands-on experience with network monitoring troubleshooting and performance optimization tools. Experience leading large-scale network projects and cross-functional teams. Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices. Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills. Relevant certifications such as CCNP CCIE or equivalent are highly desirable. Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
