Network Tech at Brightspeed

Brightspeed is looking for an experienced Network Technician to join our team! As a Brightspeed Network Technician you will be responsible for all aspects of working in the physical Central Office as well as in the field. As a Network Technician you will be required to work overtime and weekends as outages occur.As Network Technician your responsibilities will include: Supporting and maintaining all switching equipment in Central Offices as well as in the fieldKeeping all backup generators in optimum conditionInstalling supporting and maintaining special circuits and being capable of working within the TIRKS systemMonitoring and supporting all switch alarm activityInstalling supporting and maintaining fiber and copper networksSupporting and maintaining transport networks and central office power  Qualifications : WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:Familiarity with both inside and outside plant cabling practices 3 to 5 years experience as a switch technicianSelf-motivated and able to drive issues to resolution Ability to promote and sell Brightspeed services Knowledge of safety rules and regulations Ability to work well with both customers and fellow peersAbility to work outside in all weather conditionsAbility to work all shifts as assigned including nights weekends and holidays depending on business needsThis position is part of a bargaining unit and represented by a union.
