Network Systems Specialist IISUMMARY:Under general supervision the Network Systems Administrator I install configures and maintains Motions (LANs) (WANs) data communication networks operating systems and servers.JOB DUTIESDefines designs and implements network communications and solution improvements to problems of moderate scope.Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system with some discretion and judgment.Manages the load configuration of a central data communication processor and makes recommendations for the purchase or upgrade of data networks under limited supervision.Coordinates terminal orders and cable installation network system planning upgrading monitoring testing and servicing with some guidance.Approves action requests and specifies purchase requirement.Negotiates and places orders with common carriers.Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCETypically requires a bachelors degree and three (3) to five (5) years of related experience or equivalent experience.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIESIntermediate knowledge of appropriate networks products systems and design.Knowledge of job associated database/software/documentation/programming languages.Troubleshooting skills.Problem solving skills.Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to Change Management processes.Ability to interface well with vendors customers end users partners and associates.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY: COMPANY INFORMATION: Motion offers an excellent benefits package which includes options for healthcare coverage 401(k) tuition reimbursement vacation sick and holiday pay.DISCLAIMER: This job description illustrates the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this job classification.
