The Office of Information Systems and Security (ISS) support operational efficiency and technology management across all DGS divisions.We are seeking to hire a Network/Server Engineer responsible for configuration installation and support of an automation/security/surveillance network and server infrastructure in a campus environment. The successful candidate will be able to prioritize troubleshoot/resolve problems and follow through with internal clients.Key responsibilities include:Provide technical information to guide purchase decisions. Configure install and support the hardware and server systems required to provide robust campus infrastructure in support of tenant agencies. Perform routine monitoring and maintenance on the systems and hardware in the environment.Respond to requests for assistance; effectively elicit information from impacted users diagnose and correct issues. Update documentation and diagrams to accurately and effectively capture the environment.Work closely with other team members to ensure knowledge transfer and support. DGS is a qualifying employer for the Public Student Loan Forgiveness Program.Minimum QualificationsNetwork design and implementation experienceExperience with Administration of Windows enterprise systems including Domain Controllers antivirus and databasesExperience with Firewall configuration and support Experience with Fiber optic and copper wiringMust have previous experience supporting Active Directory DNS DHCP and RADIUS/RRASMS Office tools such as MS Word Excel Visio and Project. Must be able to prepare technical documentation using these and other toolsConsiderable experience with routers firewalls switches VPN LAN/WAN wireless LAN technologies Juniper and/or Avaya Cisco equipmentDemonstrated advanced knowledge in infrastructure hardware hardware management and testing toolsDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of network security and the systems that support network monitoring and managementDemonstrated ability to perform as project manager of network infrastructure and design projectsDemonstrated ability to lead problem solve and deal confidently with technical mattersDemonstrated ability to design and install end-user network systems including hardware selection software selection and integrationDemonstrated ability to work independentlyProfessional effective verbal and written internal and external communicationAbility to work flexible hours with occasional overtimeAdditional ConsiderationsHyper-V experience is preferredPrevious experience as technical lead for network infrastructure projects is preferredExperience with digital certificates is preferredAvaya Extreme Juniper and/or Cisco equipment expertise is preferredIndustry certifications such as CCNA Network etc. preferredExperience administering mass storage devices (NASSAN) preferredSpecial InstructionsYou will be provided a confirmation of receipt when your application and/or résumé is submitted successfully.
