FACULTY PHYSICIAN – CLASSICAL / BENIGN HEMATOLOGY
Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor
Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Division of Hematology, Oncology & Transplantation at the University of Minnesota, in partnership with the Masonic Cancer Center (NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center), is seeking a physician specializing in classical (non-malignant) hematology to join an established academic program.

This opportunity is ideal for physicians seeking a strong academic environment with complex referrals, research support, and opportunities for career development in benign hematology.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

• Join a nationally recognized benign hematology program with 9 dedicated faculty
• Treat a wide spectrum of disorders including bleeding/clotting disorders, hemoglobinopathies, red cell disorders, platelet disorders, iron disorders, TTP, complement-mediated disease, porphyrias, telomere biology disorders, and immunodeficiencies
• Program includes one of the nation’s largest federally funded Hemophilia Treatment Centers
• Established clinical trials infrastructure with growing gene therapy programs
• Support for clinical, translational, or laboratory research aligned with career goals
• Strong mentorship, promotion pathways, and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Teaching opportunities with medical students, residents, fellows, and physician-scientists

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide inpatient and outpatient care for patients with benign hematologic disorders
• Participate in clinical trials, translational studies, or laboratory research
• Teach learners across the academic continuum
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and support program growth

QUALIFICATIONS

• Board eligible or certified in Hematology
• Completion of Internal Medicine residency and Hematology fellowship
• Eligible for Minnesota medical license

Preferred expertise includes hemostasis/thrombosis, red cell disorders, hemoglobinopathies, gene therapy, TTP, complement disorders, rare diseases, or clinical trial development.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Dual employment through University and University Physicians.
Salary range $270,000 – $465,407 depending on rank, experience, and clinical effort (aligned with AAMC benchmarks).
