Job Summary Performs activities supporting assigned, externally funded research programs (e.g., student supervision, experiment design and execution, data collection and interpretation, manuscript, and grant proposal development). Operates and manages equipment for research faculty and staff. Responsible for the oversight of operations and maintenance of assigned research laboratories (e.g., plans, organizes, and coordinates operation of the research space; interacts closely with research faculty and staff to provide training, consultation, and other services as offered by the research facility or research space).This position is contingent on the research funding availability which is currently only secured through December 31st, 2026.Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Performs research activities supporting an externally funded research program2. Supervises the operations of the research laboratory3. Provides training to undergraduate and graduate students performing research, and to researchers (faculty and staff) on instrument operation4. Independently conducts research experiments5. Contributes to experiment design and implementation, data collection and interpretation6. Uses standard evaluation tools and methods and assists in the creation of new Data collection instruments when necessary7. Supports grant writing and proposal development8. Directs the operations of a science research facility, equipment, or research space, ss needed9. Develops policies and procedures for scientific research facilities10.Manages equipment for the scientific research facility11. Provides assistance on experiment design, data analysis, and interpretation as appropriate12. Ensures the scientific research facility is compliant with regulatory agencies and KSU¿s policies and procedures13. Provides the appropriate documentation to support prices for services14. Accurately compiles information for monthly billing15. Consults with users to determine their satisfaction with services provided by the Scientific research facility Required Qualifications Educational requirementsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a field related to position.Required ExperiencePrior research in a related field Supervisory experience Experience running research facility instrumentation Preferred Qualifications Additional preferred qualificationsPrevious experience within the area of study. Proposed Salary The midpoint of the salary range is $44,150. Offers are based on relevant experience.
