JOB DESCRIPTION

New Truck Attendant

We're looking for a New Truck Attendant to join our Gary dealership. This person will be responsible for receiving and checking in all inbound trucks and equipment. This role is on the 1st Shift, M-F 7:30AM-4PM.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for checking in new vehicles.
  • Jump start trucks on the premises.
  • Assist with snow removal, outside building maintenance and organizing the lot.
  • Recording vehicle conditions, VINs & mileage.
  • Assisting the New Truck Preparation department with other duties as required.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures and immediately report any and all accidents to management.
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company's Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and vendors.
  • Operate a forklift as needed by the department.
  • Communicate, guide, and direct inbound transport drivers and overview of the undecking area.
  • Fuel trucks on site.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Strong attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions is required.
  • Ability to work independently, customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude are required.
  • Ability to operate both standard and automotive vehicles.
  • Ability to utilize a tablet and applicable programs in a professional environment.
  • Regular, predictable, and full attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Must be physically capable of performing required work.
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to destination of TransChicago locations or customer locations.

  • The associate must be able to see and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg.
  • The associate must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area.
