A company is looking for a VP, New York State Counsel.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide underwriting support and counsel related to real estate title insurance commitments and policiesAnalyze recorded documents to determine title conditions and insurability, and explain title issues to customers and managersCollaborate with title agents and escrow staff to ensure timely closings and assist with title commitment and policy questionsRequired QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) and licensed attorney in good standing with 5+ years of title underwriting or related real estate law experience preferredFamiliarity with real estate law and understanding of title and settlement processesGeneral knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to real estate title insuranceUnderstanding of underwriting real estate transactions for title insurance policiesAbility to collaborate effectively and act decisively in a team environment
