DescriptionThis position reports to the General Sales Manager and plays a vital role in growing private event revenue, building community relationships, and expanding our sales pipeline. A high volume of phone work, superior communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are essential. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Meet and exceed quarterly and annual event revenue goalsProactively identify and pursue new event business opportunities through outbound sales efforts that include: prospecting, cold calling, and networkingDrive event revenue growth through sales call initiatives and client managementSell unique, memorable and fun events to achieve high levels of customer satisfactionMaximize revenue through up-selling, creative event planning, and suggestive sellingConduct inside and outside sales calls, including client toursBuild, maintain, and convert a robust sales pipelineMaintain accurate and organized sales activity records in CRM systemsUnderstand and track market and sales trendsRespond to all event inquiries (online and phone) within one business dayFoster strong client relationships to maximize retention and referralsAttend, network, and give presentations at wedding shows and other community activities to promote the businessPrepare event contracts and proposalsAssist with the planning and execution of spring/fall wedding shows held on-siteAssist with the planning and execution of annual corporate open house held on-siteKnow and keep records on the competition, their products, prices, and selling strategiesCommunicate regularly and effectively with sales team and other internal departmentsAttend and actively contribute to weekly sales meetingOther duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent experience requiredMinimum of 2 years of event or hospitality selling experiencePrevious experience working events desiredSolid analytical skillsSuccessful track record in problem solving and negotiation skills, with special emphasis on closing the saleMust be a team player, with a high level of dedication ready to help whenever and wherever neededAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, with focused attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirementsSolid skills and previous experience with web-based contact management programsProficient in Microsoft Office (including Outlook and Excel) REQUIREMENTS:Successful completion of pre-employment background checkPhysical strength, including the ability to lift up to 25 poundsImmunocompetence (possible exposure to infections and parasitic disease).
