NewsNation Senior Producer, NewsNation Live (Chicago, IL) at Tribune Media Company

NewsNation seeks a Senior Producer to join the show team for its weekday dayside program NewsNation Live With Marni Hughes. The senior producer will play a key role in devising the editorial and booking strategy and coordinating show production for the program. Candidates should have strong editorial judgement be comfortable crafting and producing segments and have considerable control room experience. Early morning hours required. The position is based at the networks headquarters in Chicago.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssists executive producer and anchor in setting shows editorial directionPitches story ideas and makes guest booking suggestionsHelp build rundowns for regular programming as well as breaking news and special programmingCoordinates the team: line producers associate producers writers editors and other staffProduces segments as neededCopy edits scripts and contentServes as a senior leader in the control roomFills in as executive producer or line producer as neededManage editorial relationships and collaboration with other teamsHelps implement training and best practices for show teamProvides ongoing mentoring and support to members of the show teamPerforms special projects and other duties as assigned by network managementRequirements & Skills5-8 or more years of editorial experience in a fast-paced environment for a national news program (broadcast cable or digital) that includes segment and line producingMust be selfdirecting selfmotivating and able to work will with a diverse group of peopleMust be detailorientedMust have strong organizational skillsMust have excellent writing and copyediting skillsMust have considerable line producing experienceSegment producing and package producing experience are also helpfulMust be able to handle high pressure and high intensity situations with poise and maturityMust be able to work assigned shifts and be on call during overnights mornings and weekends/holidaysSalary Range $95000 - $115000 Benefits Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes but not limited to medical (with multiple plan options) dental and vision insurance paid time off a 401(k) with company matching contributions Paid Parental leave life insurance and more.
