Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:The primary responsibility of the Certified Non-Destruct Test Technician Level 2 is totest and inspect parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methodsand techniques including radiography, ultrasound, penetrant, eddy current, lasershearography and magnetic particle.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Essential functions are the core duties or tasks that the employee will perform. List theduties that are central to performing the most basic functions of the job. Adherence to safety procedures/guidelines at all times. Maintain safety precautions at all times. Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition. Perform specific inspections and specific evaluations for acceptance or rejectiondeterminations according to written instructions and to record results. Perform NDT Examinations in conjunction with receipt and in-processinspections on material purchased for use in fabrication. Familiar with the tools and equipment and shall have demonstrated proficiencyin their use. Capable of determining the calibration status of inspection and measuringequipment is in proper condition for use, and that inspection, examination andtest procedures are approved. Capable of assisting production in the set-up of material and/or components forreceipt inspection, as required. Train other individuals as required by management.PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ABILITIES: Must demonstrate the ability to read the equivalent of the size and letters of theJaeger I chart at a minimum distance of 12 inches and distinguish anddifferentiate the contrasts between colors illustrated on an Ishihara Test Chart. Inspection personnel shall be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise moveobjects weighing up to 50 pounds. May work alone with minimal supervision or with other personnel. Inspection personnel shall possess fundamental written and verbalcommunication skills. Inspection personnel shall be fluent (written and verbal) in the English language. Computer skills, especially familiarity with MS Office applications, are necessary. Comfortable working in fast paced team environment.SUPPORTS:Quality Control Manager, Shop Managers, Production Supervisors, Product LineManagers.REQUIRED EDUCATION:Required: High School diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of inspection relatedexperience.Preferred: 2 years of inspection related experience.MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must be qualified to be certified as a Level 2 to NAS 410 in one or more of thefollowing NDT Methods that will be utilized:o Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI).o Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI). Certifications MUST be current. Ability to communicate, read, and understand English. Ability to read blueprints/drawings Ability to follow precise instructions. Ability to work around hazardous chemicals. Must have excellent hand/eye coordination. Ability to work well with others as part of a team. Able to multi-task and open to working overtime.ITAR REQUIREMENT:Due to ITAR regulations, this position requires that the employee must be a U.S. Person(U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).We are an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
