NS Laboratory Assistant at Vanguard University Of So Cal

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the weekly preparation and clean-up of our biology/chemistry/physics lab(s). Assistants will be assigned to prep for one or more labs.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Gather and set up supplies as well as prepare any media/solutions needed for the scheduled experiment following the provided laboratory manual/prep sheet.Promptly clean up materials from previous experiments and perform lab checks to ensure that lab is in working condition for the next class. (This includes restocking general purpose items such as gloves pipettes filter paper water bottles etc.)Create/Update Prep-Sheets as needed to reflect current laboratory protocols.Perform routine inventory checks and notify the Lab Manager of necessary orders.Performs other duties as assignedREQUIRED DATES:Flexible schedule weekday scheduling during academic calendar.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:Current student enrolled at Vanguard University in good standing.Vibrant belief in Jesus Christ with ample evidence of personal discipleship.Preferred Biology majorMaintain minimum grade point average of 2.0 each term.Demonstrated commitment as a team player to support and collaborate with faculty staff peers and external constituents as well as the initiative and ability to work independently.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that will result in effective collaboration.COMPENSATION: This position is 4 hours per week at a rate of $16.90 per hour.
