We’re looking for passionate, driven Data Scientists to take on some of the most interesting and impactful problems in ridesharing.As a Data Scientist in the Rider team, you will leverage data and rigorous, analytical thinking to shape our rider app and make business decisions that put our customers first. You will identify and scope opportunities, shape priorities, recommend technical solutions, design experiments, and measure impact. You will bring a quantitative mindset to decision-making in partnership with product, design, engineering, business, and operations stakeholders throughout the organization. You will report to a Data Science Manager in the Rider & Safety Science team.Responsibilities:Leverage data and analytic frameworks to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.Partner with product managers, engineers, marketers, designers, and operators to translate data insights into decisions and action.Design and analyze online experiments; communicate results and act on launch decisions.Develop analytical frameworks to monitor business and product performance.Establish metrics that measure the health of our products, as well as rider and driver experience.Experience:M.S. or Ph.D. in Economics, Statistics, or other quantitative fields1-2+ years of professional experience for PhDs or 2-4+ years for Master’s in a data scientist role Passion for solving unstructured and non-standard mathematical problemsEnd-to-end experience with data, including querying, aggregation, analysis, and visualizationProficiency with Python, or another interpreted programming language like R or MatlabFamiliar with SQL - able to write structured and efficient queries on large data setsAbility to collaborate and communicate with others to solve a problemStrong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to strategically collaborate with cross-functional partnersBenefits:Great medical, dental, and vision insurance options with additional programs available when enrolledMental health benefitsFamily building benefitsChild care and pet benefits401(k) plan to help save for your futureIn addition to 12 observed holidays, salaried team members have discretionary paid time off, hourly team members have 15 days paid time off18 weeks of paid parental leave. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
