Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDirector Nursing ServicesABOUT THE LEGACY LIVING AND REHABILITATION CENTERThe Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center, part of Campbell County Health’s comprehensive system of care facilities, is a long-term care facility offering both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation services in Gillette, Wyoming. Built with our residents and their families in mind, we are committed to providing dignified care and purposeful living every day.JOB SUMMARYThe Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall management and leadership of nursing services within the long-term care center. This role ensures the highest standards of resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and operational efficiency. The DON oversees the nursing team to create a culture of clinical excellence, safety, dignity, and compassion for all residents.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCoordinate resident care with other departments.Perform administrative duties such as: completing medical documents, reports, evaluations, studies, charting etc. Evaluate accident/incident reports and implement interdisciplinary solutionsAssure adequate supplies are available including but not limited to pharmaceuticals, resident personal supplies and equipment Prepare a plan of care for each resident that identifies the problems/needs, indicate the care to be given, goals to be accomplished and which professional service is responsible for each element of care.Coordinate with outside agencies including but not limited to; hospitals, hospice, home health, lab, x-ray, DME companies, etc.Develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the nursing service departmentDevelop, organize, implement and evaluate programs and activities including but not limited to; restorative nursing, QAPI etc.Prepare, plan, schedule and participate in nursing in-service meetingsDetermine and ensure appropriate staffing to meet the needs of the residentsInterview, select and assist in on-boarding of qualified staff for the nursing services departmentProvide employee reviews, employee feedback, corrective actions and determine dismissal of nursing services employeesMake rounds to assess quality of care performance and teamwork by employees, assuring quality service and safetyMaintain confidentiality and rights of resident, family, employee and facility information in compliance with PHI HIPAA policies and applicable regulations and company policyMust be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.Complies with the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.Other duties as assigned. This list is non-exhaustive.JOB QUALIFICATIONSExperienceMust have, as a minimum, 3 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility.Minimum (6) months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices preferredEducationMust be a graduate of an approved Registered Nurse program. BSN preferredLicenseCurrent, unencumbered, active license to practice as RN in Wyoming, CPR CertificationPI83db94c8cad5-25405-38313949
