Nutrition Services Team Leads work alongside their team cooking serving cleaning and keeping accurate records. Nutrition Services Team Leads promote a culture of health and wellness in the Ankeny Community School District by providing safe and nutritious foods that support the learning process.Job Title:Nutrition Services Team Leader (Kitchen Lead) Hourly Wage:$19.75/hr.Hours:6:30 A.M. - 2:00 P.M.Reports To: Assigned Nutrition Services Management TeamWage/Hour Status: Non-ExemptBenefit Summary: DMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent educationPositive Attitude and ability to promote a positive team cultureSuccessful large volume food service production of at least two-yearsEffectively communicate written and orallySuccessful experience leading a team to achieve department goalsSuccessful experience in time managementAbility to problem solve in a fast paced environmentExperience in basic word processing and 10-keyAbility to work for extended periods of time in extreme hot/cold conditionsAbility to meet Job Analysis Critical Physical Demands requirementsSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptableServeSafe Certification required within 6 months of hirePreferred Qualifications:School food service experience of at least three-yearsServSafe Certification or equivalentExperience in with maintaining records including but not limited to: production invoices and inventoryEssential FunctionsOn-Site contact for State of Iowa Health InspectorMaintain ServSafe Certification as requiredComplete all mandatory continuing education requirements in accordance with USDA and department guidelines by required datesEnsure that your assigned team adhere to all SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)Dependability punctuality and initiative are requiredAppropriate hygiene and uniform required in accordance with operational guidelinesActively promote a positive culture towards customers and between nutrition team membersAssure that you and your team members are good stewards of facilities and equipmentEnsure that food is prepared and served safely and attractively in accordance with set department guidelinesEffectively and respectfully communicate with: Customers Managers Co-workers Building Personnel (Administration Custodial Maintenance) and Service ProvidersAssist in training and re-education of staff in regards to district and department policies procedures and guidelinesAccurately record maintain and communicate production records to appropriate managementValidate invoices and communicate all discrepancies to the appropriate managementEnsure accuracy of daily inventory logs and communicate inventory needs or concerns to appropriate managementRecommend further areas of training needed for team membersReport all equipment needs and issues to the appropriate managementProactively look for and recommend ways to improve our services and processesPerform other duties as may from time to time be assigned by your Manager and/or Assistant Manager or Director.Provide EXCELLENT customer service to all people in accordance with department standardsServe menu items quickly and accurately to meet department standardsDependability punctuality and initiative are requiredCompletion of all mandatory trainings by required dateAppropriate hygiene and uniform required in accordance with operational guidelinesCleaning of all areas including but not limited to: Sweeping/mopping floors washing tables dishes pots/pans and work areasSetting up and organizing all service areas according to department standardsResponsible for stocking organizing and completing inventory of assigned areas in compliance with FIFO (First-In First-Out) and department standardsAbility to setup and operate computer systemsAbility to maintain composure and problem solve in a fast paced environmentResponsible for knowing and executing food service best practices according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)Ensure Nutrition Services Team is achieving expectations outlined in the position job schedules Acts of PRIDE Operational Guidelines USDA Guidelines and Iowa Food Code.Responsible for filling out all appropriate paperwork in a timely manner including but not limited to: temperature logs production usage records leave of absence slipsWorking EnvironmentMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental FactorsThe usual and customary methods of performing the position functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting carrying pushing pulling climbing reaching driving standing and walking. Working conditions may include extreme temperatures and humidity. Hazards may include exposure to communicable diseases. This position requires one to maintain emotional control under stress.ResponsibilityResponsibilities include working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods. Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform position functions.
