Job DescriptionJob DescriptionNVH TechnologistLocation: Dearborn, MIJob Type: Long-term Contract (Open-ended; Potential for Direct Hire)Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Overtime as Needed)Pay Rate: $23 – $27 per hour (Paid sick leave and optional benefits available)Position SummaryThe Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) Technologist supports engineering testing for the research and development of vehicles, products, sub-systems, components, and materials. This role is responsible for setting up and executing tests, collecting and analyzing data using specialized equipment, control software, and data acquisition systems. You will ensure testing is performed according to established procedures and prepare test reports for internal and external customers.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and set up test equipment and instrumentationConduct tests and accurately document test setup and resultsVerify testing accuracy and determine the need for additional testingIdentify NVH, durability, or testing issues and assist in developing countermeasuresClearly communicate test findings to team members and stakeholdersPerform minor automotive mechanical work as required for testingComplete part changes and test-related modificationsPerform additional tasks as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 1 year of NVH testing or related experienceValid driver’s license with good driving recordPreferred QualificationsAssociate degree in a technical fieldRequired Skills and KnowledgeKnowledge of one or more of the following areas:Powertrain and driveline NVHVehicle NVHModal analysisMount systemsAcoustic and damping materialsExperience with instrumentation, test equipment, and data processing techniquesProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsStrong ability to multi-task and work effectively in a team environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPreferred Skills and KnowledgeExperience with NVH testing and analysis software such as:Siemens Simcenter Test.LabNational Instruments LabVIEWMTS FlextestAbility to diagnose and solve NVH issues using experimental and analytical methodsStrong data processing skills and general knowledge of underlying mathematicsAbility to operate powertrain or chassis dynamometersExperience developing and constructing custom test standsWillingness to work overtime, including weekends, when requiredHRU is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).You should be proficient in:Troubleshooting SkillsMechanical TestingBlueprint ReadingMachines & technologies you'll use:Automotive Vehicles
