We’re partnering with a school district in Eaton County, Michigan to hire a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) for the 2025–2026 school year. This is a part-time, in-person position in Eaton County, MI, a center-based school serving students with high needs. The role begins ASAP and will continue through the remainder of the school year.
Position Summary
The Occupational Therapist will provide school-based occupational therapy services to students with significant support needs in a center-based setting. The OT will focus on improving students’ functional abilities, access to the curriculum, and independence through individualized and group-based interventions, working collaboratively with educators and related service providers.
Position Details:
- Position: Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Location: In-person, Eaton County, MI
- Duration: Immediately - EOY
- Hours: Part-time (hours flexible based on caseload and scheduling needs)
- Caseload: Approximately 24 students (high-needs, center-based program)
- School Year: 2025–2026 with potential to extend
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in accordance with IEP goals.
- Evaluate students’ fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and functional skills.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support student access and independence.
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to integrate OT strategies into the classroom.
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust interventions as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan State Occupational Therapist (OT) License (required).
- NBCOT certification as a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR).
- Completion of 2 hours of implicit bias training within the past 5 years (per Michigan licensure requirements).
- Experience working with students with high needs or in center-based school settings preferred.
- Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills.
